Trailblazers Shine in the Classroom: Forsyth Tech Celebrates Exceptional Fall 2025 Academic Success

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – While the roar of the crowd and the intensity of the game often take center stage, the student-athletes at Forsyth Tech Community College have proven that their most important victories are happening in the classroom. As the Fall 2025 semester concludes, the Trailblazers athletics department is proud to announce stellar academic marks for its inaugural programs.

Leading the charge, the Women's Volleyball team posted a remarkable 3.36 team GPA, with two standout players achieving a perfect 4.0. Not far behind, the Men's Basketball team earned an impressive 3.25 team GPA, including four athletes who balanced their time on the court with a flawless 4.0 semester.

Region 10 Academic Honors

The excellence was recognized at the conference level, as a significant number of Trailblazers were nominated to the Region 10 All-Region Academic Team for their performance throughout the fall.

A Culture of Excellence

The success of these programs in their very first semester of competition sets a high standard for the future of Forsyth Tech Athletics. Balancing practice schedules, travel, and games with rigorous coursework is a challenge that these student-athletes met head-on.

Athletic Director Shelly Barnes expressed her pride in the foundation being built by this first class of Trailblazers.

"I am incredibly proud of these student-athletes and the immense work they put in to represent Forsyth Tech so well, both on the court and in the classroom," said Shelly Barnes, Forsyth Tech Athletic Director. "Meeting the intense demands of being a student-athlete is never easy, especially in our first semester of athletics here at Forsyth Tech. Their dedication proves that you can be a high-level competitor while remaining committed to academic excellence."

As we look forward to the spring, the Trailblazers remain committed to the "student" in student-athlete, ensuring that success in Winston-Salem is measured by more than just the scoreboard.
