Bio
Nelson Ricardo joined the Esports team as the Assistant Coach in 2025. Growing up in Toronto, Canada, he found joy in playing video games at an early age. Some of Nelson’s favorite competitive games include FIFA, racing games, and chess. Nelson is a 2011 graduate of Forsyth Tech and has been an instructor with Animation & Media Arts since 2014, where he teaches courses related to animation and simulation and game design, with a focus on level design. He established Forsyth Tech’s gaming club in 2025 and added chess to the Esports games soon after joining the college’s Esports coaching roster. He is passionate about building a competitive and welcoming environment where students from a variety of backgrounds and interests can develop strategic thinking, creativity, and teamwork skills through gaming.
