WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Forsyth Tech Men's Basketball (11-1) leaned on its defense to notch a 77-68 victory over Cleveland Community College on Wednesday night at West Campus. The Trailblazers held the Yetis well below their season scoring average and maintained their unbeaten home record in the first-ever meeting between the programs.
From the opening tip, Forsyth Tech set an intense defensive tone, building a 39-33 lead by halftime through disciplined rotations and rim protection. The Blazers withstood multiple Cleveland runs in the second half, consistently contesting shots and turning away opportunities in the paint.
The game tightened in stretches, but key defensive stands and efficient ball movement kept Forsyth Tech in control. The Trailblazers finished with 10 blocked shots—six courtesy of Cal Barrett—and forced the Yetis into tough looks all night. Forsyth Tech also recorded 18 assists on 32 made field goals, controlling the pace and limiting Cleveland's perimeter threats.
Taky Prosper led the way offensively, scoring 16 points on 7-for-10 shooting and grabbing five rebounds. Cal Barrett anchored the defense with six blocks, three steals and added eight points. Kyri Wilson ran the offense, finishing with 10 points on 4-for-5 shooting and a game-high seven assists. Off the bench, Darnerian Gibson chipped in 14 points, four rebounds and three assists, helping to preserve the lead during key stretches.
