Forsyth Tech Men's Basketball Defeats Cleveland Community College on the Road

SHELBY, N.C. – Forsyth Tech Men's Basketball (16-3, 11-1 NJCAA Region 10) delivered a dominant offensive display Wednesday night, powering past Cleveland Community College 94-81 on the road. The Trailblazers built a commanding 24-point halftime lead and never looked back, securing another key conference win.
Forsyth Tech came out firing on all cylinders, racing to a 53-29 halftime advantage fueled by relentless defense and hot shooting. The Trailblazers attacked the rim and connected from deep, keeping Cleveland off balance throughout the opening half. While Cleveland Community College mounted a late push and outscored Forsyth Tech in the second half, the deficit proved insurmountable and the Trailblazers controlled the game from the opening tip.
The Trailblazers' offensive execution was unmatched, as they knocked down 12 three-pointers and shot 87 percent (20-for-23) from the free-throw line. Defensive activity was also on display with 10 steals and 3 blocks, while the ball moved crisply to the tune of 20 assists on 31 made field goals and only 9 turnovers.
Darnerian Gibson led the way with a career night, pouring in 38 points on 10-for-18 shooting, including an outstanding 16-for-17 from the free-throw line. Gibson also picked up 5 assists and 3 steals, showcasing his all-around game. Cal Barrett was a force inside and out, finishing with 17 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals and 2 blocks while hitting 5 three-pointers. Kyri Wilson added 18 points on an efficient 7-for-13 shooting with 6 rebounds and 4 assists, and Jayden Ross provided a spark as a distributor, leading the team with 6 assists and grabbing 7 rebounds.
