Forsyth Tech Blazes Past Pitt Community College Behind Offensive Showcase, 84-69
Gibson pours in 30, Wilson dishes out nine assists as Trailblazers notch 19th win
Forsyth Technical Community College stormed into Greenville, N.C. and delivered a dominant performance Saturday, defeating Pitt Community College 84-69. The Trailblazers pushed their record to 19-4 with an impressive display of offensive firepower and all-around execution, leading at halftime and stretching their advantage to a comfortable 15-point margin by the final buzzer.
Darnerian Gibson set the tone for Forsyth Tech, pouring in 30 points on efficient 12-of-22 shooting, including four 3-pointers. Gibson also grabbed five rebounds and handed out five assists, anchoring a Trailblazers offense that shot 52.2 percent from the field as a team.
The Trailblazers built a 37-33 lead by halftime and never looked back, outscoring Pitt Community College 47-36 in the second half to secure the win. Kyri Wilson orchestrated the attack masterfully, finishing with nine assists, two steals, eight points and five rebounds. His court vision and ball movement helped Forsyth Tech record 26 assists on 35 made baskets, highlighting the team's unselfish and energized attack.
Cal Barrett added 13 points on 6-of-8 shooting, along with three rebounds, four assists and a block. Taky Prosper chipped in 11 points with three rebounds, while Jayden Ross anchored the glass with a team-high eight rebounds, including five on the offensive end, and added six points and three assists.
As a group, Forsyth Tech grabbed 40 rebounds, 13 of them coming on the offensive boards, and maintained its dominance throughout both halves. The Trailblazers' efficiency and relentless effort on both ends never allowed Pitt Community College to close the gap in the second half.
The Trailblazers' cohesive team play—spanning efficient scoring, crisp passing and winning the battle on the boards—underscored another statement win in a season filled with offensive highlights and strong execution.
