Gibson Earns NJCAA Honorable Mention All-American Honors
Forsyth Tech freshman guard Darnerian "D1" Gibson has been recognized as one of the top players in the nation, earning a selection as an NJCAA Honorable Mention All-American for the 2025-26 season.
The Thomasville, North Carolina native and Winston-Salem Christian alumnus established himself as a premier scoring threat in Region 10 throughout his debut collegiate campaign. Gibson appeared in 30 games for the Trailblazers, leading the team's offensive charge with a consistent and explosive scoring ability that kept opponents on their heels.
Gibson's statistical profile from the season highlights his versatility and impact on both ends of the floor. He finished the year averaging 19.1 points per game overall, but truly excelled during the gauntlet of the conference schedule, where his production jumped to 20.5 points per game.
Beyond his scoring, "D1" served as a primary playmaker and a disruptive defensive presence. He tallied 85 assists on the season, maintaining a sharp 2.1 assist-to-turnover ratio, and led the perimeter defense with 59 steals.
