Bio

Daniel Morgan was named an assistant basketball coach at Forsyth Technical Community College on May 5, 2025, joining the Trailblazers for the program's inaugural season.

"Coach Morgan will be an extremely valuable member of our inaugural staff here at Forsyth Tech," Head Coach Lucas Hunter said upon Morgan's hiring. "Daniel possesses a high level of energy and an infectious personality that the young men in our program will benefit greatly from."

In his first year on staff, Morgan helped propel Forsyth Tech to an exceptional 25-5 overall record during the program's historic maiden campaign. The Trailblazers captured the NJCAA Region 10 Division II Regular Season Championship with a 19-3 mark in conference play, with the staff earning Region 10 Coach of the Year honors for their leadership.

Morgan’s dedication to player development yielded immediate results on the court as multiple Trailblazers earned major postseason recognition. Guard Darnerian Gibson garnered NJCAA Division II Honorable Mention All-America honors alongside Region 10 Freshman of the Year, Region 10 Offensive Player of the Year, and First Team All-Region selections. Point guard Kyri Wilson earned Third Team All-Region honors after leading Region 10 in assists per game, while forward Cal Barrett was also selected to the All-Region Third Team.

Highlighting the staff's commitment to four-year advancement, three inaugural-year Trailblazers earned opportunities at the NCAA Division II level: Barrett moved on to Young Harris College, Taky Prosper signed with American International College, and Justin Geter committed to Winston-Salem State University. Off the court, the team achieved high standards in the classroom, earning recognition as an NABC Team Academic Excellence Award recipient.

Prior to joining Forsyth Tech, Morgan spent seven years building and leading the basketball program at Union Grove Christian, where he coached both the men's and women's JV and varsity teams. During his tenure, he compiled an overall record of 93-50, captured three conference championships, and brought home two NCCSA State Championships. Additionally, Morgan has extensive coaching experience on the summer grassroots circuit with both the Carolina Impact and Winston-Salem Stealers AAU organizations.
